Local maize plants have prospects to be developed in line with the increasing demand and level of community consumption. One local varieties maize, Talango variety, has advantages early maturity 75 days, long shelf life, high yield cheap seed prices. The nutritional content variety is higher than that hybrid such as 11.24% protein, 4.96% fat 75.6% carbohydrates. This study were determine best dose selenium growth (Zea mays L.) varieties. used Randomized Block Design (RBD) one factor consisting A0 = 0 µm, A1 5 A2 10 A3 15 A4 20 A5 25 A6 30 A7 35 A8 40 A9 45 µm. Each treatment will repeated 4 times so there are total experimental units. research variebles included plant height, root wet weight, shoot flowering age, weight 100 weight. data obtained analyzed using analysis variance (ANOVA). result Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) α 5% compare effect between treatments on yield. (Se) doses at different levels had a positive observed variables fresh per weights. results showed Se μM produced range 59.25 g – 79.84 which was significantly from control other doses.
